it costs more than a penny to make a penny. and wouldn't you know, there's a lobby both for and against retiring the penny.

I watched the sunday morning show about this. I just wondered why they don't use some other sort of metal since the penny does not really consist of much copper any more. Then they could dye it to look like the old penny. I think that it would be a shame to get rid of it. It is the only way i can actually save money(in a jar)...lol
