flipping

my friends and i stayed at an amazing lake house on lake martin in alabama this weekend. the house, well cabin, was really not that exciting. but walk outside and see the three story deck/bar and it's a different story.

i've been introduced to a drinking game called 'flip cup.' this is a new one for me -- i've played asshole and the occasional round of beer die, but not flip cup. in a flip cup match, one-by-one a contestant chugs their beer out of a cup. then he or she sets the cup down on the edge of the table/bar and using their fingers, hits the bottom of the cup to flip it over. a successful flip is when the cup lands upside down, not right-side-up. after a successful flip, the next person goes. the team which finishes first wins. simple. but a three story deck/bar required taking flip cup to another level ... in this case -- flip jump. in this case, contestants chug, flip and then jump off the second level of the deck, about twenty feet above the water. the contestant who hits the water first, wins.

it makes for some good, drunken fun while playing and some sore butts the next morning.
