book clubbing

i went to the sporadic book club i sometimes attend because the topic was a book i think is a very important book worth dicussing. while fiction is my area of expertise, i do read a socially oriented book every now and then. so, on that note, some socially oriented books i find important and worth discussion:

1. Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich (the aforementioned book club topic)
2. Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
3. The Future of Freedom by Fareed Zarkaria

sometime in the near future i plan on reading An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, which i imagine will become no. 4 on my list if it's anything like his lecture series, which i've heard it is (i have not yet seen the movie, but would like to.)
